My grandfather, Henry Robert Killian, Sr. was born in Hickory, N. C. late in the 19th century around 1894 He married Christine Sanders in Florence, S. C., and their only child, Henry Robert Killian, Jr. is my father.
His sisters, brothers in law, and nephews came down to SC from Hickory to his funeral in South Carolina in 1980. It was amazing to me to see so much family resemblance. My brother and my dad could have been brothers to all the cousins. Same physical features, mannerisms,cadence of speech and impeccable good manners.
I would love to hear from anyone who remembers my grandfather, or father, Aunt Blanche, cousin Pete Rowe, cousin Richard Killian(who was in the Navy and visited our home in New York in 1959 or 60)or anyone else who would like to get to know us.
I have seven children of my own and four grandchildren. Two of them have Killian as a middle name.
