Daniel Killian

Daniel Killian is the second child,  of Andreas Killian (1702 - 1788) and Mary Cline, the pioneer who came to America from Germany in 1732.  

Notes from William L Hinds Data Base: At the time of the 1790 census this Daniel Killian lived in that part of Burke County, North Carolina that is now Buncombe County. He received one-half of his father's real estate, in a will dated September 22, 1785, made in Lincoln County. This amounted to 293 acres of land lying on both sides of Clark's Creek, three miles west of the present town of Newton. His brother, Samuel, received the other half of the real estate. Together they were to provide for their mother, Mary. When Daniel married Osley M. Baker, his brother, Samuel, served as bondsman. Sometime before 1800 he moved to Burke (Buncombe) County and settled on Beaver Dam Creek near the present city of Asheville. He entered 200 acres of land on the waters of Beaver Creek in 1792; the grant was issued December 2, 1797.
